Incandescence : Fortune favors the brave. Those words still ring in my ears. A shouted challenge, right before I lost one of the most important people in my life. How do I keep that unspoken promise, and become one of the brave? Although my powers are still growing, my control over them is tenuous at best. But, I am getting ahead of myself, before I can learn how to be one of the brave, I need to learn how trust. Trust my teammates, my Commander, new friends, and most of all, myself.

Team Blaze’s journey is just beginning, and someone in power seems to know our every move. In order to unravel the events that are happening, we need to work together. There are secrets that people will kill for, and we have fallen smack in the middle of a supernatural war.

“Your hair is beautiful, you’re quite stunning with it down.”

Grimacing, he reached up and with nimble fingers, quickly began to braid the rest of his hair.

“I’m sorry Eli, I didn’t mean to offend you.”

“No, Allegra, it isn’t you! I usually try to keep it back.”

With a sigh, Elias sat back down in the rocker. His casual clothes still crisp, and wrinkle and stain free, as if they had just been steamed.

“It’s my glamour. I usually only wear my fae or government military issued clothes, and I almost always keep my myself battle ready,” he informed me, and waving a hand at his now braided hair, he continued, “Most of my clothes are spelled to tone down my glamour, so I appear as the most mundane version of myself. But I needed to re-spell most of my gear. Now seemed like a good time to do it, so here I am, in all my natural glamour glory.”

Sighing, Elias tilted his face up to the rising sun, the light making his pale skin almost luminescent.

Nodding my understanding, I leaned against the railing.

“You don’t need to hide yourself or your glamour when we’re off duty. You’re quite handsome, but it isn’t like you are using it lure us into some kind of trap. Or are you?”
