The Howling Wolves : The war to end all wars is coming. Maerwynn, the faction that sits in the center of it all has become fat and gluttonous, all-while the brutal Empire of Caeronvar is preparing to stake their claim through all-out war. Bandits have begun to roam without care or resistance, villages are pillaged and burned into mounds of ash. Ruffians take by force, patrols from the capital are a rare sight to see. Decades long peace in the realm has cast a spell of naivety on many kings and rulers, but treachery brews and chaos is soon to come on its fiery steed.
“A boy, no older than eight had galloped on a thin black horse into the west gate in utter hysterics, well armed infantryman guarded the gates of Peronell, as did the patrolling squads of rangers that were often sent from Maerwynn, seeing the success of the blooming town that demanded an extra-level protection. The horse was well behaved, the boy clearly had a relationship with the steed.“Help! Please! Kravik’s attacked Forvon!”
The guards had quickly flocked to the boy, Peronell rarely had problems with conflict even though it knew Nomad Valley was rife with bandits, rarely did they enter the forest, it was nested in a good point of defense, and there wasn’t any other known enemy in the area that could successfully siege it.
His stomach growled, he eyed the fruit trees and fat men walking about behind the open gate. “Calm down boy, what’s your name?” A guard who quickly identified himself as the watch captain asked.
“Merek, sir. I live Forvon. Right across the forest. Kravik has attacked! The smoke, the smoke, you can see it through the trees if you look right- that’s Forvon, he’s burnt it to the ground- killed everyone, we need your help!”
The watch captain turned around to his guards and rubbed his white beard, the man was an old one, dearly armed and armored as all Peronell military-men were.”
